Rest In Peace

It is with great regret that we advise the sudden passing away of John Lucas
at the age of 81years.

John was a founder member of Old Cestrians Rugby Football Club ( now Cheshunt Rugby Football Club) in the early 1950’s.

John played for every team in the Club until his retirement from the game, when he turned his hand to referring for the Herts. Society of Referees.

John was an all-round Sportsman and excelled in Tennis and Golf. He was Captain of Brickendon Grange Golf Club and still enjoyed playing a round until recently.

John was an avid supporter on the touchline, and his presence will be sadly missed as will his friendship in the bar afterwards.
