Cheshunt defend well!

With it being half term we had a few missing, and including our injured players this left us very short this week. We managed to get together a full team with just 1 sub against a Fullerians A and B Team. The first game was against Fullerians A displayed some excellent rugby from both sides. The game was being played end to end, with some great ball movement, as usual Matt was all over the pitch and Big Joe kept storming through to gain ground, Cheshunt defended well with tackle after tackle and kept Fullerians from the line. However, an unfortunate momentary slip of concentration from the team allowed the hosts to score the only try of the game.
Final score 5-0

The second game was against the B Team, Cheshunt stepped up their game showed their skill. The forwards were winning the scrums and allowing the backs the freedom to run, we saw some excellent leg work from Conor, Aston, and Matt. With the backs doing lots of running, surprisingly it was two forwards that came up with the tries, Scott and Mal getting one each. An excellent game to watch.
Final score 0-10

After a 5 minute break we started the third game against a Fullerians Ba-Ba Team, the Cheshunt boys although tired showed real grit and dug in for the last game. Several times the team drove Fullerians back in the maul to within metres of the line but just failing to score. There was strong runs coming from the whole team and a terrific break from Aston looked as though he was about to score, when Fullerians robbed the ball from him on the line. The team won the ball straight back and Scott from close range dived over to score. There was some more great work with Billy and Cameron getting their hands on the ball and running straight to gain ground, with some superior team work between Ollie and Aston they pop the ball to Billy to score again. Fullerians came back hard and pulled two tries back, making a nervy last few minutes, there was a superb try saving tackle from Kenny and just before the final whistle some determined collaboration set Matt up to score the winning try.
Final Score 10-15

An exceptional day of rugby, well done boys!!
