Saracens Shirt Shake
U7s through to U12s @ Allianz Park
On Christmas Eve, nineteen boys from the under 7s through to under 12s, their parents and friends made the short trip to Allianz Park to watch Saracens take on Newcastle and also to take part in the pre-match ‘shirt shaking’. An early start to the day meant a 10.30 meet up in the club car park for the short coach drive on the M25 and down the A1 to the stadium.
Arriving at the ground in plenty of time to spare, the adults made a beeline for the bars and food, whilst the boys got their rugby balls out and warmed up the only way kids know how by kicking the ball around!!
With about 30 minutes to kick off, the boys headed off to the players stand to learn the art of shirt shaking and how to get a 40 foot giant shirt wrapped up and off the pitch before the game kicked off. Come kick off the boys had mastered it, walking out to the 10,000 crowd in their Cheshunt kits and performing a mild shake for Newcastle followed by a big shake for when the Saracens came out. The boys did great and their attitude and behaviour was first class, and a credit to the club and their families.
Thank you to Saracens for hosting us and letting us take part in the pre-match build up. We look forward to another outing soon.
